The European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) is part of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), a non-profit, intergovernmental organisation funded by 24 member states and two associate member states. Our 570 staff deliver services, research and training to an international user community and form the largest centre for bioinformatics in Europe. EMBL-EBI provides access to biological data via core informatics resources such as Ensembl, UniProt, Europe PubMedCentral and the European Genome-phenotype Archive (EGA) which we deliver in collaboration with the Centre For Genomic Regulation (CRG). We participate in international infrastructure design, delivery and best practice through ELIXIR, GA4GH and are funded to deliver internationally important infrastructural services via the CORBEL, EXCELERATE and Accelerating Medicines Partnership T2D projects.
