McGill University is one of Canada's best-known institutions of higher learning and one of the leading universities in the world. With students coming to McGill from some 150 countries, its student body is the most internationally diverse of any research-intensive university in Canada. Today, McGill is recognized around the world for the excellence of its teaching and research programs (mcgill.ca). The McGill University Genome Quebec Innovation Centre (MUGQIC) provides Canadian researchers with high-throughput technologies and cutting-edge approaches to enable new-generation disease, genomic and epigenomic studies. We have a strong focus on population and functional variation and their impact on chronic diseases, aging, cancer and genomic responses to environment, and these themes drive development of technologies on our renewed and expanded sequencing infrastructure, and refine emerging analytical approaches with large anticipated impact on Canadian genome sciences.
